Troubleshooting
My script opens, but a voice is missing or Play is greyed out
If your script opens in the reader but a character has no voice or Play is unavailable, start by checking the cast’s voice assignments.
Check the cast first
Open Voices and look through the character list. Every role you want the AI to read needs a selected voice. Choose AI to open the voice picker, select a voice, and confirm with Select Voice. A role set to Me is left for you to read aloud.
Check for conflicting character cues
The import check does not catch every formatting issue. If the same person appears twice in Voices, or dialogue is missing or appears as action, check the character cues in your source file. Older saved scripts may also contain conflicting cues.
Follow Fix character names before importing for formatting examples and instructions for importing a corrected copy. That guide also explains what to do if your next import is rejected. Keep your earlier saved copy until you have checked the corrected version.
If Play is still unavailable
If Play is still unavailable with a complete cast, open Help & Support with the script open and include a diagnostic report. Tell us which character is affected.
